{Review} Tribes-A-Dozen Voilà! Hallah Egg Bread Mixes

I was NOT compensated for this review.  I received FREE products from Tribes-A-Dozen to review.  All opinions are my own.

Tribes-A-Dozen is about wholesome, all natural, kosher hallah (or challah bread) - the classic egg bread - also referred to as barches, brioche, kalács, osterbrot, or twisted bread.

I received three Voilà! Hallah Egg Bread Mixes: Simply Spelt, Traditional, and Wholey Wheat which are very easy to prepare, either in the oven or the bread machine.

By following the easy directions on the box, I was able to have the yummy Traditional bread with my dinner and some left over for french toast in the morning.

The box contains the flour mix and a yeast packet.  All I needed to add was eggs, oil, sugar and water.

I started out by mixing the flour, yeast, oil and eggs in a bowl (I do not have a stand mixer, although I desperately want one).

Once it was thoroughly mixed, I let it rise for 10 minutes, per the directions.  I don't have a "warm, draft free place" per say, so I preheated the oven and placed the bowl on top of the stove with a towel over it.

Then, I divided the dough into 3 equal balls and rolled into 12 inch ropes (with the help of my oldest daughter) and proceeded to braided them.

My daughter then brushed the bread all over with an egg white and sugar mixture.

And it was back to the stove-top to rise for another 45 minutes.

It rose beautifully and it was time to bake for 25 minutes.

Here is the finished product.  It doesn't look perfect but it certainly was delicious.  It was fabulous with our lasagna dinner.  The outside was crunchy while the inside was light and fluffy.  The flavor was perfect and I can't wait to try the other varieties I received.

Head on over to my giveaway to enter for a chance to win the same 3 mixes I received:  Traditional, Simply Spelt and Wholey Wheat.
